Or perhaps more aptly titled, "Pray and Shovel." While clearing some of the Global Warming off our driveway this morning, I was privileged to pray for my friend, Kim, who is in surgery.
It's quite a nice combination actually. Not surgery and breast cancer. Although if the surgery's successful, it's a good combination, I suppose. But praying and shoveling, being the good combination. It's so quiet and peaceful outside. Perfect conditions for praying.
My son came out for a while to help. He's so tall in his snow boots. My little man isn't so little anymore!
We still have a bit of the Climate Change falling from the sky, and it's been going on now for about 36 hours straight. Funny. We often have flowers blooming when the candy beggars show up on the 31st.
May God bless Kim and her family this day.

Hello. I found your site by reading the comments at LaniersBooks.com, and have to laugh aloud at your Global Warming comments. I'm always reminding people that the climate swings back and forth naturally. In the 70's, when we had tremendous snowfalls, they said we were entering another Ice Age...

And I see we both love October, but hate the ghoulish displays in the stores all month long. Our daughter has her birthday in October, and she feels gyped that she has to share it with all the icky scary stuff in the stores.

I'm right there with your daughter! My birthday is also in October, and October, to me, is so NOT about Halloween. I want to kick it right out of my beautifully autumnal month...OUR beautifully autumnal month! :-)
Lanier is a rare soul. She has such a kind spirit, she's well-read, and she writes so beautifully, I want to cry sometimes. I lament the fact that her posting is sporadic, but maybe she'll post more now that her blog has been redesigned. I love reading her poetic view of life.
Oh, and P.S., I'll tell my daughter that you totally agree with her about October!
